Raymond C. Fuerst

Raymond C. Fuerst, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Ray was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 21, 1941 to Carl and Alberta (nee Wagner) Fuerst. On April 5, 1962, he married the love of his life Carolyn Urmanic. He was a 50 year member of the IBEW Local 648; during that time he was the treasurer for over 20 years. Ray was a SAY Soccer coach for several years. Ray volunteered with the Hamilton Mini Circus. He was a member of a wood carver’s club, winning multiple blue ribbons at the Butler County Fair. Ray was a member of St. Ann’s and St. Joseph Catholic Churches, where he visited members in the hospital. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ray enjoyed spending his time traveling with his wife, Carolyn. Ray was an active member of Partners in Prime, Hamilton and Oxford.

Ray is survived by his children, Leah Johnson, Doug (Darlene) Fuerst, Kay Fuerst-Webb and Toby Fuerst; his grandchildren, Joseph, Michelle, Christina, Danielle, Kenny, Brittany, Olivia, and Steven; his 8 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Alberta (the late Jerry) Wirsch, Joan (Dick) Biltz, and Peggy (John) Palermo; his brother-in-law, Gary (Loraine) Urmanic; and many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Fuerst; and his sister, Barbara (Virgil) Sparks.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington St., Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM with celebrant Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio. IBEW services will be held at 7:45 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Partner’s in Prime or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
