Rebecca Cook Hamilton, age 86 of Hamilton departed this life at Hospice of Hamilton on January 12, 2009 at 1:35 AM. She was born in Cary, Kentucky on February 24, 1922 the daughter of James and Tennessee (Tuttle) Bowling. In 1939 at London, Kentucky she married the love of her life, Gerald Cook and to this union was born five children. She enjoyed bingo and the casino boats.
She is survived by four children, Bennie (Sue) Cook, Olamae (Delmar) Hall, Goldie Stamper, and Gerald (Shawnie) Cook; numerous loving and cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald Cook; her second husband, William Hamilton; a daughter, Joyce Stamper; a grandson, Bennie J. Cook Jr.; a granddaughter, Deborah Michelle Hall-Yates; a brother, Ford (Zella) Bowling; a sister, Laura (Joseph) Hubbard; and a loving nephew, Gary Hubbard.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Davis of Hamilton Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
