Rena Evonne Beckett

Rena Evonne Beckett, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away at Woodland Country Manor on the morning of Saturday, September 30, 2017. Rena was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 26, 1937 to Elvere F. Tobias and Clara Alice Robertson Tobias. Rena (aka Toby, Bonnie, Evonne) married James R. Beckett July 21, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio. Rena and her husband were fifth-generation farmers on the family farm in Hanover Township and were longtime members of Faith Church. She graduated from Bethesda School of Nursing in 1958 as a registered nurse. Rena worked as a nurse at Woodland Country Manor, Golden Years and McCoullough Hyde Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, painting, puzzles and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Rena is survived by her children, Janet (Bruce) Finkbine, Barbara (Wesley) Marcum, Eric (Amy Sue) Beckett, Derk (Amy Lynn) Beckett, Adam (Tammie) Beckett and Charles (Christina) Beckett; grandchildren, Rebecca Finkbine, Bruce (Sarah) Finkbine, Nicole (Ken) Snelling, Casey Marcum, Amanda (Jerry) Wirsch, Amber Beckett, Jessica (Austin) Baker, Daniel Beckett, Andrew Beckett, Elizabeth Beckett, John Beckett, James Beckett, Sarah Beckett and Joseph Beckett; great-grandchildren, Lilly Ann and Jack Henry Finkbine, Luke and Adeline Snelling; sister, Evelyn Spadafora; in-laws, John C. (Carol) Beckett, Janet Beckett and many special nieces and their families. Rena was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Douglas Tobias.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Faith Church, 1877 Millville Ave, Hamilton. Funeral service will follow at the Church with Pastor Jeremy Pruett officiating, with burial at Darrtown Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Church.
