Rev. Raymond Carl Collier

Rev. Raymond Carl Collier, age 94 of Hamilton passed away at SpringMeade HealthCenter in Tipp City, Ohio on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 5:45 AM. He was born in London, Kentucky on October 8, 1915 the son of Samuel and Mahriah Jennetta (Moren) Collier. Raymond was a Baptist Minister for over 50 years in the Hamilton area serving at Central Baptist Church in Hamilton, Darrtown Baptist Church in Darrtown, Faith Baptist Church in Mt. Healthy, Hill Top Baptist Church in Fairfield, Seven Mile Baptist Church in Seven Mile, Tallawanda Baptist Church in Oxford, Millville Baptist Church in Hamilton, and Valley View Baptist Church in Hamilton. He was also a Carpenter with Carpenters local #126. On September 6, 1935 in London, Kentucky he was married to Stella Brown and she preceded him in death in 2002.

He is survived by a son, Darryl (Mary) Collier of Tipp City; two daughters, Lucy Davis of Sevierville, Tennessee and Jacqueline Alling of Roanoke, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Stewart, Heather, Cindi, Sherri, Derek, Holly, Amy, and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roberta Vandeventer of London, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Stella Collier; a son, Donald Collier; four brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Howard Murray pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the SpringMeade HealthCenter, 4375 South County Road 25A, Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
