Rev. Gerald M. Gowins Sr.

Rev. Gerald M. Gowins Sr., age 69 of Cincinnati passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 10:29 PM. He was born in Loveland, Colorado on June 20, 1941 the son of George Nathan and Dorothea (Greenfield) Gowins. Jerry was employed as a salesman for Kings Toyota and was also a pastor for many years at Living Faith Assembly of God in Oxford, Ohio and New Covenant in Olney, Illinois. He was a member of Montgomery Assembly of God. On June 24, 1962 in Denver, Colorado he married Marvella Andrews and she preceded him in death in 2001.

He is survived by four sons, Gerald (Tina) Gowins of Pickerington, Ohio, Michael (Beth) Gowins of Hamilton, Timothy (Carolyn) Gowins of Ivor, Virginia, and Andrew (Jackie) Gowins of Geneva, Nebraska; a daughter, Sonja (David) Warndorf of Cincinnati; a sister, Naomi (Bob) Rector of Gameliel, Oklahoma; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents;; three brothers, Robert, Paul, and Arnold Gowins; and two sisters, Ruth Kreider and Esther Haney.

Funeral service will be held at the Montgomery Assembly of God, 7950 Pfeiffer Road, Montgomery, Ohio on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 7:00 PM with Associate Pastor Courtnell Francois officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
