Rev. Palmer Ledford

Rev. Palmer L. Ledford, age 82 of Trenton passed away at Heritagespring of West Chester on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 9:45 PM. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on May 5, 1929 the son of Palmer and Nancy (Bowling) Ledford. Palmer was a veteran of the United States Army from 1948 to 1950. On July 7, 1950 in Clay County, Kentucky he married Mary Woods. Palmer was employed at Ford Motor Company for thirty one years and was the pastor of Life Tabernacle for the past thirty two years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ledford of Trenton; nine children, Barbara (David) Stout of Trenton, Brenda (Dale) Combs of Hamilton, Christine (Earl) Raleigh of Trenton, Mary Katherine (Danny) Jones of Hamilton, James L. Ledford of Somerville, Paul E. Ledford of Somerville, Charlotte Streit of Trenton, Elizabeth (Mike) Gibson of Somerville, and Lois (Fred) House of Hamilton; three sisters, Evelyn (Bobby) Browning of Hamilton, Yvonne Cornett of London, Kentucky, Lucille (Paul) Taulbee of Hazard, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alvin Lunsford, Mable Adams, Doris Adams, and Edith Music; and two grandchildren, Michael Lawrence Streit and Donnie Lester Scott.

Funeral service will be held at Life Tabernacle, 6462 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Middletown, on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Pollard officiating. Burial will follow at Simonson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
