Rev. Leonard W. (Bucky) Snyder

Rev. Leonard W. (Bucky) Snyder, Morehead, Kentucky, husband of Betty Lewis Snyder, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born in South Charleston, West Virginia, Rev. Snyder was a minister of the Church of God for more than fifty years. He graduated from Anderson University, Anderson, IN and did post-graduate work at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Cincinnati, OH; and Queens College, Charlotte, NC. He was the recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales, FL. Rev. Snyder’s ministry spanned more than five decades and several continents. He pastored churches in Charlotte, NC and Hamilton, OH and served as interim pastor in Oklahoma City, OK and London, OH. He also had preaching assignments in Brazil, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Argentina and was the leader of numerous missions/work trips to Central and South America. He was the Director of Ohio Ministries of the Church of God for five years and had been the Minister-in-Residence at the Anderson School of Theology. Additionally, Rev. Snyder had served in numerous leadership positions in the Church of God at the national, state, and district levels. In addition to his wife Betty Lewis Snyder, he is survived by daughter, Karen F. Snyder of Lexington, KY; son John and Amy Snyder of Fairfield, OH; grandchildren Casey Jo and Abby Snyder, also of Fairfield, Ohio; the Lewis children and grandchildren Steve, Jan, Sarah and Rebecca Lewis of Morehead, KY; Mark, Kay, Ryan, Jenni, Brandon, and Megan Lewis of Morehead, KY; brother Bill and Frances Snyder of South Charleston, WV, nephews Randy Snyder of Winfield, WV and Rod Snyder of Morgantown, WV, and niece, Robyn Eckley of Woodbridge, VA.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with a service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Allan Hutchinson and Dr. Jack Ellis officiating. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at the First Church of God, Hamilton, OH and Saturday, September 8, 2007, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton, OH.
