Reva Lipps

Reva Lipps, age 84 of Hamilton passed away at Golden Years Health Care on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 6:05 AM. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky on June 21, 1924 the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Owens) Clontz. Reva graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1942. She later moved to Hamilton and became an employee of The Pease Company. She retired after thirty one years of service. She became a member of the Millville Avenue Church of God and was a loyal servant of this church for more than forty years where she treasured her role as a greeter. She often referred to the church and its people as her life and to her job as something she truly enjoyed.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Fred (Judy) Southard and Dale (Diana) Southard; four daughters, Vickie (Conley) House, Reba (Art) Ranke, Donna (Harold) Keith and Shirley (Leon) Hanes. She was the oldest of three children and is survived by her two brothers, Earl (Irene) Clontz and Wendell (Linda) Clontz. Her home and her heart was always opened to her five grandchildren Jennifer Southard, Rob Southard, Jonathan House, Justin House, and Michael Southard, and her one great-grandson Tyler House. She is also survived by a host of family members that she treasured including two special nieces Michelle Prater and Kristina Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Lipps and her parents, all of whom she adored.

Funeral service will be held at the Millville Avenue Church of God, 1369 Millville Avenue, on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
