Rex E. Dement

Rex E. Dement, age 96 of Hamilton, passed away at Bradford Place on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Rex was born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas on August 11, 1927, to John Dement and Annie (Siler) Dement. Rex was a veteran in the United States Army, serving from 1945-1947 in Okinawa, Korea, and Japan.  He loved people, always had a smile on his face, and really enjoyed joking with people. Rex is survived by two special nieces, Patricia Lynn Dement of Herrin, IL and Carol Johnson Fontana of Canon City, Colorado; his sister Harriett Stephens; a friend Myrtle Morrison; and numerous other nieces and nephews, family and friends. Rex was preceded in death by his companion, Inez Moren; his parents; two sisters, Ernestine Billie Johnson and Mable Weatherly; and two brothers, Ervin Dement and Bobbie Joe Dement; and his best friend Charles Stephens. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on September 27, 2023, from 12:30PM – 1:00PM, at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
