Rex Noe, age 72 of Fairfield passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on April 28, 1939 the son of Lawnzie and Lucy Edna (Cornett) Noe. Rex was the owner/operator of OKI Contractors. He was a member of Washington Lodge #17 F&AM and Scottish Rite. Rex was a Kentucky Colonel, and enjoyed gardening and being with his family. On June 17, 1960 in Hamilton he married Phyllis "Sis" Pace, and after 48 years of marriage she preceded him in death on June 20, 2008.
He is survived by two daughters, Thelma "Nellie Bell" Bulmer of Laurel, Indiana and Amy Noe of Cincinnati; two brothers, Loy (Loretta) Noe and Jimmy (Rose) Noe, both of Fairfield; three sisters, Irene (the late Paul) Nickell, Geneva (the late Bill) Wagers, both of Hamilton, and Linda (George) Wagers of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Aaron (Heather) Freeman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Abbie (Michael) Rogers of Laurel, Indiana; a great-grandson, Jack Freeman; life long friend and devoted employee James Henley; special friend, Jennifer Dransman; three special girls, Kiley, Brooklyn, and Raegan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Tillett and Rev. James House officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Home Care staff, and staffs of Mercy Hospital ICU and 3-B, and Vitas Hospice.
