Richard David Bonapfel

Richard David Bonapfel, of Hamilton, Ohio, suddenly passed away October 16th, 2026, at the age of 53. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of family, friends, and everyone who knew him. Born on May 27th, 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rich dedicated his life to being a father, grandfather, and working at Carter Lumber in Mason, OH. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, going to Bengals games, and going to as many rock concerts as possible. He loved doing meet and greets with entertainers he admired. He was a collector of memories; he has a souvenir for a memory with almost everyone. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor and contagious laugh.

Rich is survived by his girlfriend, Jenny Kurtz-Michaels; his children, David (Erica) Bonapfel, Jessica (Tryfon) Christoforou, Brayden Bonapfel, Alex (Hannah) Bonapfel, Cameron Bonapfel, and Dodge (his beloved dog); grandkids, Xavier, Austin, Aria, Sawyer, Mario, and Apollo; and family, Teddy Witt, Mathew Mateikat, Sheri Bowling, Tammy Bonapfel, Kim Bonapfel, Stephanie Michaels, Bret Michaels, Ashley and Beverley Petrey. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Christie (Frank) Manning, his father, Richard A. Bonapfel; his sister Elizabeth Bonapfel; and his grandmother, Elinor Hancock.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service honoring Rich’s life on Friday, October 30th, 2026, at 3pm at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home located at 330 Pershing Avenue in Hamilton, OH. Rich will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
