Richard L. "Dick" Brune

Richard L. "Dick" Brune, age 83 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on May 17, 2011 at 10:50 PM, after a long struggle his lungs finally gave out. He was born in Hamilton on April 22, 1928 the son of Lawrence and Louise (Holbrock) Brune. Dick was a graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. In 1946 Dick enlisted in the US Navy to serve for 2 years and served in the Pacific Theatre aboard the U.S.S. Bremerton. To this day he was still registered with other shipmates across the country in the USS Bremerton Organization. After an honorable discharge he began his employment in 1948 at the Hamilton Autographic Register Company and after working at the plant over 20 years they ended up closing their doors in 1968 for good. He enjoyed the next 20 years working for the City of Hamilton in the Electric Distribution Department as a Unit Operator. On July 2, 1949 in Hamilton he married Rose Mary Bisdorf.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Bisdorf; a son, Richard Jr. (Linda Hill) and a daughter Nancy Rack, Macedonia, Ohio; four grandchildren; two granddaughters, Amy and Allison Rack; two grandsons, Eric Brune and Charles Wuethrich; and one great granddaughter, Jessica Brune; and a brother, Donald Brune.

Family and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, on Monday, May 23 at 10:00 AM with Father William Kennedy Celebrant. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday from 5 PM to 7 PM. The family wishes to thank the staff on the 4th floor at Ft. Hamilton Hospital and the staff of Hospice of Hamilton for their loving and excellent care of Dick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Badin High School, the Animal Shelter, or your favorite charity.
