Richard "Dickie" William Marvin

March 2, 1954 — April 25, 2010

Richard "Dickie" William Marvin, (aka "Hawkeye"), age 56 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, April 25, 2010. He was born in Hamilton on March 2, 1954 the son of Richard and Lavern (Schuh) Marvin. Richard was educated at Queen of Peace Catholic School and Ross High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. He married his soul mate, Susan (Schlabach), on August 4, 1972. From this union came three beautiful sons, William (Bill), Travis, and Ryan. He retired from Cincinnati Bell in 2003.

He is survived by his loving wife Sue; sons Bill, Travis (Stephanie), and Ryan (Gina); his "bubby" and grandson Christopher Lee; mother-in-law Ruth Schlabach; brothers-in-law Ken Jr. (Leslie), "special brother" Marty (Denise), and Greg (Robyn); special nieces and nephews Lindsey, Kirsten, Samantha, Kyle, Andrea, Ron, Stacie (Nick), Jenna, Ashley, and Aris; great-niece Jade; and special friend of the family Dennis Schernbeck. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Ken Schlabach, Sr.; sister-in-law Sandy and her husband Jimmy Smith; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Schlabach.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Shandon with Fr. Raymond Leurck, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Dickie’s favorite charity, Food for the Poor, Inc. (www.foodforthepoor.org)
