Richard "Rick" Mayers

Richard "Rick" Mayers, age 54 of Hamilton passed away in Warsaw, Kentucky on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 8:48 AM. He was born in Hamilton on January 13, 1955 the son of Donald and Ethel (Holderbach) Mayers. Rick was a very active member of the National Rifle Association and was employed in crane maintenance for Gallatin Steel Company for the last eleven years. On September 6, 1980 in Hamilton he was married to Jo Ellen Beckman.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ellen Mayers of Hamilton; his father and mother, Donald and Ethel Mayers of Hamilton; one daughter, Kelly Weber of Trenton; one brother, Donald Mayers of Trenton; two sisters, Ann Mayers and Linda "DeeDee" Mayers, both of Hamilton; two brothers-in-law, Doug (Nancy) Beckman of Hamilton and Dale (Bonnie) Beckman of Middletown; and also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Weber in 1990.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. William Rennecker, Deacon of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association.
