Richard Kenneth "Dick" Peck

Richard Kenneth "Dick" Peck, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 3:10 PM. He was born in Middletown on July 9, 1927 the son of George and Lida (Wyatt) Peck. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps 831st Aviation Engineers during WWII from 1945 to 1947. He was employed as a pipe fitter/plumber for Local #392 and Local #108 in Hamilton, and Local #113 in Middletown for 35 years; he later became a member of Local #392. Dick served two terms as president in #108, and business agent and president of #113. He was a fifty-year member of Washington Masonic Lodge #17, a life member of Elks #93, American Legion Post #138, Amvets Post #1983, Eagles #407, and Moose Lodge #036. On November 24, 1948 he married Margaret Mattingly, who preceded him in death in 1980; he later was the loving companion of Virginia Devine, who preceded him in death in 2007.

He is survived by two sons, Gary (Patricia) Peck of West Chester and Greg (Robin) Peck of Hamilton; two daughters, Kim (Tom) Smith and Linda (Carl) Compton, both of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Shauna, Sara, Rodd, Greg, Carley, and Alissa; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob; two brothers, Bill (Martha) Peck of Kentucky and Paul Peck of Virginia; a sister, Ruthann Rogers of Middletown; and Virginia’s children, Valeria (Steven) Augustefer, Jimmy (Kim) Devine, Ed (Pam) Devine, Johnny Devine, Sheryl (Bruce) Jackson, Patrick (Sharon) Devine, Bobby (Denise) Devine, Stevie Devine, and Christine (Les) Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Ralph; and one sister, Imogene.

Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.
