Richard A. Vierling

Richard A. Vierling, age 72, of Hamilton, passed away at his home on Monday April 12, 2010. He was born in Batesville, Indiana on October 3, 1937 the son of Anthony and Bernice (Bare) Vierling. Richard was a truck driver for Allied Van Lines for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of Amvets, VFW, and Moose and Eagle Lodges. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, walking, gardening, and was a skilled handyman. On May 28, 1960 in Hamilton he married Avia Bell, who passed away in 1998.

He is survived by 5 children, Shirley (Ed) Reeder of Cincinnati, Nanette Kling of Hamilton, Cindy (Jeff) Morris of Fairfield, Tony (Charon) Vierling of Fairfield, Michael (Kim) Vierling of Hamilton; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; his mother, Bernice Vierling of Indiana; four brothers, Bill of Florida, James, Gary, and Donald, all of Indiana; five sisters, Sue of Wisconsin, Dixie, Virginia, Barbara, and Terry, all of Indiana; and close friends Carol Withrow and Tommy Turner, both of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; and a brother, Jack. Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Paul Daggett of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Arthur Richards and to the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati.
