Richard G. "Dick" Weber, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, February 22, 2010. He was born in Hamilton on July 31, 1922 the son of George and Marie (Pfeil) Weber. Dick was a 1940 graduate of Hamilton High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving from January 13, 1943 to April 25, 1946, as a first sergeant in the military police in England and France. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Eame Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, first on a foot route for 13 years and then as a rural carrier for 27 years, retiring in 1988. Dick was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and American Legion Post 138. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. On July 9, 1949 in Hamilton he married Margaret Arnold, and they enjoyed more than 60 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Weber of Hamilton; a son, Timothy R. (Donna) Weber of Cincinnati; a daughter, Lisa (Joe) Sanders of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Dr. Joseph (Elizabeth) Weber of St. Louis, Missouri, Douglas Weber of Pendleton, Oregon, Paige Sanders, and twins Chase and Christian Sanders, all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two brothers, George Weber of Cincinnati and Jack Weber of Dayton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Weber, and a sister, Ruth Weber.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Church, 3028 Pleasant Avenue, on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Stephen Mondiek, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or to St. Ann Catholic School. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Hamilton.
