Richard "Rick" D. Wesley

Richard D. Wesley (Rick), age 67 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Richard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 14, 1957, to Ottis Wesley and Hattie (Jones) Wesley.

Rick graduated from St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Schools. He attended Northern Kentucky University & graduated with a degree in journalism/communications. He was a staff writer at the Cincinnati Enquirer, The Pulse Journal, and the Dayton Christian Citizen newspapers, as well as a driving instructor at Tom's Superior Driving School. Rick loved all things sports, especially the Bengals and the Reds, not only did he enjoy watching sports, but he also liked playing them and participating in fantasy leagues.

Rick was a man of Faith; he loved the Lord. He met the love of his life Lisa at Springdale Nazarene. They started dating in January of 1998, got engaged in May of 1998, and were married on October 3rd,1998. It was a whirlwind romance, but they knew right from the start that they were each other's forever & rarely spent a day apart over the next 26 years. They especially enjoyed just hanging out on their porch together. They also enjoyed traveling, picnics, gardening, going to ball games, spending time with their family and getting together with their group of friends.

Rick loved to laugh and to make people laugh.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Wesley; in laws Karl and Georgie Vance, sister-in-law Tina Vance, nephews Carl (Elke) Smith, Cameryn and Noah. Great nephews Matt, Steven, and Chris Smith. Niece Jan Buckner. Great niece Marisa (Zack) Frondorf, great great nieces, as well as many cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Hattie Wesley; his siblings; Dorothy (Wesley) Smith, Robert Wesley, Orval Wesley, nephew Dave Buckner and brother-in-law James Vance.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life that will be held at a later date. Family will make an announcement once all plans have been finalized.
