Rick Allen Van Winkle, age 57 of Hamilton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born in Hamilton on January 21, 1956 to Raymond and Helen (Sizemore) Van Winkle. Rickey worked construction for forty years, owning his own construction business. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, and playing with his grandson. He also enjoyed winning at cards and chess.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Van Winkle; two daughters, Rashaunda (Shawn) Head, and Rashel Van Winkle; a grandson; Rickey Van Winkle; mother, Helen Van Winkle; two brothers, Ronnie Van Winkle and Ray Shockey; two sisters, Robin (Scott) Mobley and Kyle (Garret) Sweet; a father-in-law, Howard Campbell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Van Winkle; and his mother-in-law, Maxine Campbell.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 1520 Chicago, IL 60693in his honor.
