Rickey C. Bates

Rickey C. Bates, age 64 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 27, 2023. Rickey was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 24, 1959 to Curtis and Millie Margaret Bates. Rickey graduated from Garfield High School. Upon graduation, he started working for B&O Railroad and later retired from CSX Transportation. On June 8, 1979, he married Christi Hahn. He was a proud father of four daughters and loving papaw of nine grandchildren. Rickey loved all things Tennessee and was a proud man of the Lord.

Rickey is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christi Bates; his four daughters, Halicia (Vini) Enderle, Brittany (Nick) Hammons, Heidi (Cory) Lewis and Paige (Sean) Geisz; his grandchildren, Andrew, Jackson, Gabrielle, Autumn, GraceLynn, Gunner, Hudson, Brooks and Hunter; his brother-in-law, Tobin (Misty) Hahn; his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; his in-laws, George and Julia Hahn; his brother-in-law, Kyle Hahn; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Bates.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
