Ricky L. Walker

October 12, 1953 — October 7, 2023

Born on Oct 12, 1953 in Hamilton, Ohio. Ricky Lane Walker, who had the Amateur Ham Radio call sign as N8POG, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. He has been reunited with his mother and daddy in glorious Heaven. Oh what a celebration that must have been! Ricky leaves behind the love of his life (as he always called her), Liz Walker. They were married on Oct. 12, 1997 (the date chosen because he would never forget his anniversary). Ricky also leaves behind two children—his daughter, Traci Lane Walker, daddy’s girl, and a son, Rinaldo Yulfo III, (Amanda) whom he raised as his very own son since 1997. Ricky also leaves behind his granddaughter, Jaiden (papaw’s baby girl) Ellis (Josh), his granddaughter, Haylee Lane Yulfo, who was blessed with her papaw’s middle name. His grandson, Roman Yulfo and his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Yulfo. Just a few months ago, he became a Great Grand Papaw for the first time with the birth of Myla Rose Ellis. Even though he knew her only a short few months, he loved her so much. He also leaves behind his best buds (dogs), Ozzy, Buster, and Sarah.

Ricky had some very close friends during his lifetime. Junior and Gail Mason. Junior and Ricky were best friends over 40 years. They played in Christians bands for years and traveled around—oh the stories we heard about.  Mike Dowdy was his HAM best friend during their Amateur Ham Radio days. Mike called him each morning Monday-Thursday at 6:30am where they bantered back and forth until Mike made it to work.

Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Walker; his daddy, Cleveland Walker; and his brother, Billy Wayne Thomas.

The family wishes to express they’re thanks to Kettering Ft. Hamilton with the excellent care they provided and to Queen City Hospice who came in just a few days before Ricky went to his Glory!

Ricky (N8POG), save a place for me. I’ll meet you there. I will treasure all our memories especially our goodbyes in the morning when I would say : “Bye Bye, I’ll see you this afternoon, I love you” and you would respond: “Be careful, I love you, bye bye and buy bonds”. I miss you so much Ricky. Your loving wife, Liz (N8PRM).
