Ricky L. Hurst

Ricky L. Hurst, age 63 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Known to most as Rick, he was born on Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri on July 13, 1960 to Kathryn Patricia (Gilmore) Hurst-Wilson and the late Bennie Earl Hurst. Rick enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after leaving high school. He proudly served as a boatswain’s mate aboard the U.S.S. America (CV-66). After his time in the service, he married the love of his life, Kim and together they settled in Hamilton to raise their daughter Trish. He went to work at Hamilton Scrap which later became Cohen Brothers Recycling. Rick enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially boating and grilling out with his family. Above all, Rick loved his family with all of his generous heart.

Rick is survived by his wife, Kimberly June Hurst; his daughter, Patricia (Steven) Blizzard; his grandchildren, Tristan and Landon; his mother, Pat Wilson; his sisters, Debbie Hurst and Sherry Hurst; his brother, Tom Wilson; his special nephew, Bruce Beverly; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
