Rita F. Gaddis

Rita Faye Gaddis, age 83 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Rita was born in Red Bud, Kentucky on August 10, 1940 to Clarence and Delores (McKeehan) DeJarnette. She retired as a secretary at Edgecomb Metals after 30 years of service. Rita enjoyed animals, both domestic and wild, and travelling. She loved drawing, sewing, canning vegetables, and spending time with her family.

Rita is survived by her children, Gregory Woodrum, Brenda (Mark) Smith and Kimberly (Brian) Coffey; stepchildren, Cindy (Keith) Thomas and Troy (Jennifer) Gaddis; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece, Lisa; two nephews, Tony and Mark; and numerous other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Delores DeJarnette; sister, Peggy Martin; husband, Roy Paul Gaddis; and companion/ friend, James Richmond.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Bill Botts officiating.  Burial will follow at Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, OH. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. In addition, the family would like to thank Ruth Richmond for her friendship and companionship towards their mother.
