Rita Schneider

Rita M. Schneider, age 96 of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015. She was born in Hamilton on September 27, 1918 to Theodore and Mary (Martin) Kroeger. On August 22, 1942 in St. Ann’s Church she married Harry J. Schneider and together they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage. She was a long time member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Harry T. (Carolyn) Schneider, Rita Ann (William) Rigling, Carolyn (Kim) Spendlove and Joseph Schneider; grandchildren, Stephanie Schneider, Rita (Rod) Georgopoulos, William Rigling, Mark Rigling, Tara (Pete) Lemos, Beau Spendlove, Michael Spendlove and Mary Spendlove; great grandchildren, Katelyn and Josh Georgopolous, Isaiah, Alex and Elizabeth Rigling, Jasmine and Luke Rigling, Lindsay, Landon and Leila Lemos and Raeven and Gabriel Spendlove; brother in law, Frank Fontaine; sister in law, Ethel Kroeger; and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Schneider; parents; siblings, Joseph, Paul, George, Theodore and Martin Kroeger, Hilda Ziegler, Thelma Gersbach, Mary Holmes, Therese Fontaine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton and The Saint Peter/ Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
