Rita Susanne Smallwood

Rita Susanne Smallwood, age 81, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. She was born on June 2, 1945. Rita attended Hanover School and went on to become the proud owner and operator of R & L Electronics, a business she dedicated herself to for 45 years. Rita loved playing guitar and singing country music. Music brought her joy throughout her life. She was devoted to her family, and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched countless lives. Rita treasured every moment spent with her family.

Rita is survived by her son, Troy (Shawna) Smallwood; her granddaughter, Kristen (Bobby) Fortune; her half-sister, Ruth Faivre; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Larry Smallwood; her son, Roger Smallwood; her grandson, Trey Smallwood; her half-sister, Vickie Davidson; and her half-brother, John Nichols. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Katherine and Tobias Ulreich, who lovingly raised her and whom she always considered her Mom and Pop.While she will be deeply missed, Rita's family finds comfort in the many memories she created and the legacy she leaves behind. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Millville Cemetery at 1PM.
