Robert W. Barkley Sr.

Robert W. Barkley Sr., age 80 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 10:46 PM. He was born in Hamilton on February 14, 1935 the son of Oscar and Novella (Davis) Barkley. Robert was employed as lab technician at Hamilton Foundry for 38 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Tri County Church of the Nazarene. On October 31, 1953 in New Miami he married Eleanor Barker.

He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Eleanor Barkley; five children, Michelle Sparks, Karen (Dana) Cornett, Robert W. (Yvonne) Barkley Jr., Tammy (Roy) Glancy, and Jessica Romanello; seven siblings, Jack (Doris) Barkley, James Barkley, Marla (Steve) Cupp, Debbie (Larry) Southard, Richard (Gail) Barkley, Beverly Glancy, and Lesa (Hoss) Wilson; a sister-in-law, Kay Barkley; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carmella Joy Barkley; stepmother, Juanita Barkley; and son-in-law, David Romanello.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Dan Walters of Tri County Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
