Robert E. Bowling

Robert E. Bowling, age 77 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 6:53 PM. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on January 12, 1932 the son of James and Alma (Griffith) Bowling. Robert was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1961. He was employed as a slitter operator at S.O.S. for 25 years. He was a member of the Princeton Pike Church of God, where he was active with the Golden Pikers and the Amazing Grace Choir. On December 15, 1970 in Jellico, Tennessee he married Grace Mills and she preceded him in death in 1999.

He is survived by one brother, Billy Bowling of Hamilton; one sister, Janet Hutchinson of Ashland, Kentucky; a devoted niece, Christy Eversole, who he and Grace raised; and her children, Destiny and Haley; and a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jimmie Bowling and Delores Hutchinson.

Funeral service will be held at the Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton-Glendale Road, on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ron Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
