Robert "Bob" Brickner, age 70 passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Friday March 13, 2009. He was born February 7, 1939 in Hamilton, OH. He was the son of the late Bernard and Catherine (McDaniel) Brickner. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an accomplished machinist for thirty years. Robert owned and operated successful businesses including Brickners Guns and most recently Specialty Plastics since 1993. On March 28, 1969 in Hamilton he married Betty Eversole.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty Brickner of forty years; one son, Nelson Brickner of Hamilton; three daughters, Angela (Homer) Wagers, Sharon Brickner; and Beverly Brickner, all of Hamilton; he is also survived by two brothers, John (Lashon) Brickner and Claude "Champ" (Judy) Halcomb, both of Hamilton; ten grandchildren, Michael (Rebecca) Wagers, James (Emily) Wagers, Homer "Brack" Wagers, Joshua Brandenburg, Amanda Brandenburg, Brittany Boggs, Christa Sheffield, Anthony Kirschbaum, Kayla Smith, and Chelsie Brickner; Robert is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and business associates. He is preceded in death by his father Bernard and Mother Catherine Truett as well as three brothers; Logan, Nelson, and William.
Funeral services will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home 330 Pershing Ave. on Wednesday March 18, 2009 at 10AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5PM-8PM. Bob’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of ICU at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield.
