Robert J. Leak

Robert J. Leak, age 71 of Hanover Township passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 28, 2013 after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Hamilton on September 1, 1942 the son of William R. and Genevieve (Czaika) Leak. Robert was a 1959 graduate of Hamilton High School and a veteran of United States Army. He served as a firefighter with the City of Hamilton for twenty-seven courageous years, retiring in 1999. Robert was a carpenter, avid woodworker and a proud supporter of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. On April 5, 2000 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee he married Roberta Cook.

He is survived by his wife Roberta Leak of Hanover Township; four children, Roxanne Leak, Tammy Leak, Chrissy (Matt Grathwohl) Leak and Stephanie (Rick Shaffer) Burkhardt; three grandchildren, Chelsea Leak, Amber Burkhardt, and T.J. Burkhardt; three siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving dog, Chang.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, January 2, 2013 at 12 noon with Pastor Kevin Carpenter of the Vineyard Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12 noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
