Robert W. Mense

Robert W. Mense, age 80 of Hamilton passed away in Huntington Court on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 9:25AM. He was born in Hamilton on February 24, 1928, the son of Robert and Mary Louise (Schroeder) Mense. Robert was a member of K of C #968 and the Fourth Degree, the VFW Post #1069, American Legion Post #l5, BPOE #93, Cincinnati Chapter National Railway Historical Society and Division #7 National Model Railroad Association. He was also the Field Announcer for football and basketball for Hamilton Catholic High School and Badin High School for twenty-five years, was an active member of the Catham Club and a member of St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church. He was the co-owner of the Mense Insurance Agency for forty-four years retiring in 1990, and was a Veteran of the Korean War with the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. On June 19, 1954 in Cheviot, Ohio, he was married to Rosemary Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Mense of Hamilton; one son; William C. ( Lynne) Mense of Hamilton; one daughter, Patricia A. (Tim) Maio of Wrenthem, Massachusetts; one brother, James (Marlene) Mense of Fairfield; two sisters, Mary Lee Bittinger of Hamilton and Gail (Jack) Larkin of Claremont, Florida. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Stephanie Mense, DCFN 3Class Peter Mense with the United States Navy, Thomas R. Maio, Steven A. Maio, Kevin C. Maio and a number of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Father Tim Bunch, Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to the Robert and Mary Louise Mense Scholarship Fund at Badin High School or the Emergency Money Fund of Hamilton. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Greg Savage and Staff of Huntington Court for their loving care and concern.
