Robert Ponder Sr., age 88 of Hamilton, passed away in Wilmington, NC on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Robert was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 6, 1930 to James Robert Ponder and Lula Wardlow Ponder. Robert was an US Army Air Corp veteran. He retired General Motors after 30 years of service. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge-Camden. He married Jeanetta Pendegrass in Kentucky December of 1947.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert (Barbara) Ponder Jr., Tilden Ponder and Laverne Sue Thomas; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanetta Pendegrass Ponder; brothers, Virgil Henry and Tilden Ponder; sisters, Stella Richardson and Beulah H. Carpenter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
