Robert C. Potts, age 68 of Fairfield passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 7:20 PM. He was born in Hamilton on December 1, 1941 the son of Andrew and Ruth (Boyd) Potts. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1962 to 1966. He was employed as a computer engineer at Honeywell Corporation for 24 years, retiring in 1986; he was then employed as a maintenance mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church and Seven Mile United Methodist Church. On February 10, 1962 in Hamilton he married Patricia Gatliff.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Potts; a brother, Michael (Lorraine) Potts; two nieces, Patti Burress and Denise Gatliff; four nephews, Michael Burress, Andy Potts, Jimmy Roth, and Billy Paragin; five great-nieces and nephews, including Deja Burress; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Brunner officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Mile United Methodist Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or Hospice of Cincinnati. The family would like to extend a special thank you Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support.
