Robert L. Ryan

Robert L. Ryan, age 76 of Liberty Township passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 1:45 PM. He was born in Blue Ash on April 19, 1932 the son of Joseph and Theresa (Compton) Ryan. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was employed at General Electric for more than 30 years, retiring in 1988. On August 11, 1980 in Jellico, Tennessee he married Phyllis Vonderstrasse.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ryan of Liberty Township; three children, Debbie (Homer) Berry, Robert (Sevetlana) Ryan Jr., and Linda Webber; two stepchildren, Shane (Denise) Vonderstrasse and Vicki (Danny) Burke; seven grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Paolo, Christy, Ryan, and Kelly Manning, Kami (Joe) Santel, and Tyler and Alexis Vonderstrasse; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Glen Goins of Laurel, Indiana officiating. Burial will follow in West Chester Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
