Robert E. Stumpf, age 79 of Hamilton passed away surrounded by his family and friends, at his residence on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:15 PM. He was born in Hamilton on September 8, 1931 the son of William and Jessie (Meacham) Stumpf. Robert was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was employed as a unit manager for Pillsbury Corporation for 20 years, and later retired from Hamilton Tool. Robert was a member of the Disciples Christian Church. Robert passed on his 60th Wedding Anniversary to Donna J. Summers whom he married on October 7, 1950 in Hamilton, and she preceded him in death in 2003.

He is survived by three children, Michael C. (Vicki) Stumpf of Seven Mile, William E. Stumpf, Sr. of Monroe, and Kathleen E. (William Jr.) Kugel of Trenton; six grandchildren, Ryan Stumpf, William E. (Jennifer) Stumpf Jr., Aaron R. (Taryn) Stumpf, William R. (Sarah) Kugel III, Jonathan A. Kugel, and Matthew P. Kugel; six great-granchildren, Brendon, Lily, Carter, Kellan, Kellie-Rebekah, and Brayden; a brother, William (Doris) Stumpf of The Villages, Florida; and a sister, Darlene Stumpf of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by, one granddaughter, Kelly E. Stumpf; and two sisters, Mary Louise Stumpf, and Margaret Ann Stumpf.

Memorial Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastors Chris and Maggie Trumbull of the Seven Mile United Methodist Church officiating. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A private committal service will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park.
