Roberta Garrett

Roberta Lynn Garrett, age 50 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:45 AM. She was born in Hamilton on July 15, 1961 the daughter of Jimmy L. and Joyce (Carberry) Smith. Roberta was employed as a surgical technician at Fort Hamilton Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Garrett; two children; Robert O. (Lindsey) Garrett of Trenton and Denise J. Garrett of Hamilton; her mother, Joyce Allen of Burlington, Kentucky; a sister, Doris Mitchum of Danville, Kentucky; a brother, Steven Smith of Overpeck; her stepmother, Linda Smith of Overpeck; two grandchildren, Oscar and Taylor; stepsiblings Mike Smith and Carla Smith, both of Hamilton; nephew Jason (Mandy) Mitchum of Hamilton; niece Jennifer (Donnie) Conatser of Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy L. Smith; a son, Dennis Garrett; and her stepfather, Glen Allen.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darryl McCoy of Fairfield Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
