Roberta Evelyn Moore, 83 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 9:23 AM. She was born in Cincinnati on September 17, 1927 the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Peterson) McDonald. Roberta was a member of the St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church and was employed in Dietary with Mercy Hospital Hamilton for 21 years. On October 6, 1949 in Richmond, Indiana she was married to James E. Moore.
She is survived by her husband of over 61 years James E. Moore of Hamilton; a son, Delbert L. Moore of Connecticut; four daughters, Patricia (Harold) Whittamore of Hamilton, Mary Butz of Hamilton, Gloria Mollett of Hamilton, and Rose Hacker of Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Mary) McDonald of Las Vegas, Nevada, Richard (Mary) McDonald of Hamilton; three sisters, Winnie Tegee of Virginia, Sylvia Hardewig of Cincinnati, and Ann (Leonard) Penner of Riverside, California; a brother-in-law, Russell (Wanda) Moore of Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jeff Hacker a brother-in-law, Delbert Moore; and her mother-in-law, Pearl Jones.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
