Robert "Bob" Glover

Robert “Bob” Glover, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Robert was born in Winchester, Kentucky on January 18, 1931 to the late Woodrow and Susan (Greene) Glover. Known to many as Bob, he graduated from Taylor High School in Cleves, Ohio, class of 1948. Robert joined the National Guard before attending Miami University. Shortly after enrolling, he was called into active duty with the U. S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. During his time in the service, He married Mary Lou Abrams.

After the war, he returned home to the Cincinnati area and they raised a family together. Robert worked for the power company briefly before he started a career at the Fernald Site. He started as a glass blower in the laboratory and advanced to management in the special projects division. He later transferred to the Mound Laboratories Site under Monsanto Chemical and continued work on projects for the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense, receiving numerous awards during his career.

He also was a member of the Monsanto Gun Club and Chess Club. He was a Boy Scout leader and football coach at St. Ann Catholic Church and coached youth soccer for the Optimist Club in Fairfield. In retirement, he enjoyed being a shopkeeper at Metamora and volunteering at Habitat For Humanity. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and had a special interest in Native American history and archeology. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his children, Bonnie (Steve) Clark, Mike (Linda) Glover and Tim Glover; his grandchildren, Valerie Britton and Gared Glover; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lou Glover; his parents; and his sisters, Jean Wehr and Hilda Glover; his brother, James Newman, as well as an infant brother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
