Roland W. Wise

Roland W. Wise, age 62 of Fairfield, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Roland was born in Spokane, Washington on September 1, 1962 the son of Eugene E. Wise Jr. and Betty Jean (nee Davis) Wise. Roland lived in Redmond, Washington before relocating to Ohio in 2020. He graduated high school and worked as a greeter at a local hospital.  He was politically savvy and he annually attended and advocated for the Disabled in the capitol in Olympia, Washington. Roland regularly attended the Unitarian Church and he was an integral part of its membership. Roland was quite independent while living in Washington. He rode handicap transportation by himself, including making transfers to his appointments and trips to the mall. Roland loved to travel with his family. Trips included Las Vegas, an Alaskan cruise and family reunion in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He also traveled to Columbus, Ohio several times for holidays, weddings and his father's 80th birthday party. His favorite things to do were people watching, dining out in various restaurants and receiving massages.

Roland is survived by his sister, Lauren Wise-Muhammed; step mother, Veeda Wise; uncle, Maurice Crutcher (Susan); nieces Shani Higgins (Melvin) and Jacqueline Brown; nephew, Jalani Ricks; great nieces and nephews; step brother, Bryan Kelley (Toya); step sister, Crystal Kelley and cousins.  Roland was preceded in death by his father, Eugene E. Wise Jr.; his mother, Betty Jean Wise; and his brother, Eugene E. Wise Ill.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  According to Roland's wishes cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his mother at Spring Grove Cemetery.
