Ronald Edward Armentrout

September 21, 1936 — March 10, 2025

Obituary for Ronald Edward Armentrout Ron, age 88, passed away at UC Medical Center on March 10, 2025. Ronald Edward Armentrout was born on September 21, 1936, in Hamilton, Ohio to Vincent J. and Ruth E. Armentrout. Ron attended both St. Ann's and St. Veronica's Catholic schools, graduating from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1954; after which he entered into the United States Air Force and was stationed in England.

Upon returning home from service, and reconnecting with his high school sweetheart, Muriel Ann Emenaker, they married in 1968. After 57 years of marriage, Muriel is quoted, "It was more than just love between us; we were the best friends any couple could be."

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Muriel; sons Todd (Debbie) Vogt and David Armentrout; grandson Kevin (Katie) Fletcher, and great-grandson, Lincoln Fletcher; brother Tom (Jane) Armentrout, sister Tina (Rob) Davidson, and brother-in-law Bob (Joyce) Figarola, and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by sisters Susan Figarola, Barbra Armentrout and Jill Armentrout. Ron worked several places including Herig-Hall-Marvin Safe Company of Hamilton and worked in real estate. The majority of Ron's career was spent working for the United States Postal Service from which he retired. Pastimes in the early years include boating, water skiing, bowling, and tennis, all of which he participated in with Muriel as his partner. Ron was an active member at the Amvets, as well as a lifetime member of the Hamilton Elks Club.

While Ron excelled in all his favorite sports, his main passion was golfing, which showed through his service to the Elks Club. Ron served as The Lodge Tiler, ensuring that all members were in good standing upon entering the club. Serving as The Draw Down Committee fund raiser chairperson, Ron's efforts allowed the Hamilton Lodge to donate thousands of dollars to charities such as The Fischer House for veterans, Hospice of Cincinnati, and the Boys and Girls Club of West Chester.

Ron was the founder and organizer of the Armentrout Golf Group that played Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Elk's Golf Course for nearly 50 years. He was a member of Hamilton Lodge 93 for 56 years and named a life-time member in 2007. He was also nominated as Elk of the Year for 2017-2018.

Ron was full of love and life and will be truly missed by his family and many friends. To continue his legacy of caring and giving, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hamilton Elk's Lodge 93, 4444 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Liberty Township. Ohio 45012; or call 513-887-4380. All donations will go to The Fischer House Foundation whose mission is to support families of those who have served in all military branches. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3028 Pleasant Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Fr.
