Ronald Yancey, age 73 of Hamilton, passed away at Atrium Medical Center on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Ronald was born in Hazard, Kentucky on November 30, 1948 to the late Earl and Opal (Strunk) Yancey. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Vicki Fields. Together, they raised three children in Hamilton. Known to many of his friends and family members as Tuff Guy or Pap, he drove a truck all of his life. He enjoyed the open road, especially when taking loads out to the West Coast. He was the kind of guy that would drive with the windows down, the music up, and three different log books under the bench. When he was home, he and his wife attended Hamilton Church of God for many years. Above all, Ronald will be remembered for being a kind, caring man that loved his family. Ronald will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Vickie Yancey; his children, Shannon (Josh) Penley, Brent (Patty) Yancey, and Brian Yancey; his grandchildren, Hailee, Kayli (Nathan), Alyssa (Corey), L.J., Cooper, Scott, Dillion, Aaron, Tiffany, Christina, and Summer; his sisters, Brenda Napier and Karen (Dave) Tillett; as well as many great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends. Ronald is reunited in Heaven with his parents; his siblings, Fred Yancey and Earlene Stacy; his brother-in-law, Bob Stacy; and his canine company, Buddy. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Ronald’s memory may be gifted to the Alzheimer’s Association .
