Rose E. Schauerte

Rose E. Schauerte, age 103 of Hamilton passed away at Berkeley Square Health Care on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:10 AM. She was born in Alton, Illinois on May 29, 1907 the daughter of Charles Samuel and Bridget Catherine (Dean) Watson. Rose was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. On February 8, 1934 in Alton, Illiois she married Gerald E. Schauerte, and he preceded her in death in 1988.

She is survived by three granddaughters, Dayna (Lynn) Schauerte Auten of Mooresville, North Carolina, Rebecca (John) Schauerte Puhl of Deltona, Florida, and Melissa (Christian) Schauerte Boyle of Tempe, Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Danielle N. Hipps, John W. Puhl, Rose E. Auten, Finnegan J. Boyle, and Emelia C. Boyle; and her former daughter-in-law, Anita Hoelle (Jim) Maglisceau of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leo Watson; and two sisters, Elizabeth Dalton and Mary Catherine Cox.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
