Roy Lee George

Roy Lee George, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 2:10 PM. He was born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on May 21, 1927 the son of William and Mary (Grant) George. Roy was employed as a mechanic at Tri-City Auto Service for 10 years, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of North 7th Street Church of Christ. On May 1, 1945 in Liberty, Indiana he married Margaret Lucille Conklin, and she preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by three sons, Ron (Debbie) George of Fairfield, Terry (Grace) George of Hamilton, and Steve (Cody Dale) George of Mt. Healthy; a daughter, Joyce (Jerry) Combs of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Dennis, Keisha, Kevin, Danielle, Cody, Kayla, Jerry Lee, and Diana; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold George of Liberty Township, Buddy (Shirley) George of Fairfield Township, and Bob (Grace) George of Hamilton; two sisters, Bessie Lockwood of Mt. Healthy and Betty Sue George of Arizona; and a daughter-in-law, Anna George of Mt. Healthy. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde George and Floyd George; and a sister, Mary Lou Elmore.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Hargrave, Pastor of Fairfield Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
