Roy C. Phillips

Roy C. Phillips, age 60 of Fairfield passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 6:58 PM. He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on July 20, 1947 the son of Maynard and Evelyn (Chambers) Phillips. Roy was a veteran with the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a yard master for CSX Railroad. He is survived by two children, Roy Christopher (Christina) Phillips and Tammi Smith, both of Hamilton; sister, Kathy Jordan of Fairfield; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Taylor, Kaley, Zachary, Madison, Marissa, Kyle, Nathan, and Ashley; and devoted friend and former spouse, Janice Phillips. He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Phillips and mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Vester Rose. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Daniel Hidlebaugh of Truth Tabernacle officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
