Ruby E. Brockman, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Ruby was born in Sand Gap, Kentucky on March 23, 1935 to Chester Robinson and Hazel (Smith) Congleton. She married James Brockman on April 15, 1950 and went on to live in Washington D.C and Maine as an Airforce wife. They settled in Hamilton and lived there throughout their married life. Together they had 3 daughters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to James’ death they loved camping and traveling. Ruby was actively involved in her Seven Mile community and enjoyed line dancing for many years. She was also extremely talented in home decorating, furniture refinishing, and art. Throughout her life, her favorite times revolved around her family.
Ruby is survived by Lynn (Dan) Brown, Deborah (Mark) Kimbrell and Diane (Greg) Detherage; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two special friends, Jo Goins and Leonard Hudson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James Brockman; sister, Faye Gamstatter; and brother, Robert Robinson.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
