Ruby Geraldine Jarvis

Ruby Geraldine Jarvis, age 78, of Fairfield Twp., went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at her home. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 18, 1932 the daughter of Lenox "Hacker" Vaughn and Bessie (Van Winkle) Vaughn. She was a 1951 Graduate of Fairfield High School and married on June 13, 1958 to the late Harrison "Harry" Jarvis at the West Side Pentecostal Church, now Hamilton Christian Center in Hamilton, Ohio. Mrs. Jarvis worked for many years at Ohio Casualty and was a founding member of Hamilton Christian Center. She led the Youth & the Drama Ministries at her Church for many years, and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Her love for the Word of God allowed her to teach classes throughout the 40 years for students in Junior High, and High School, and continued to teach Young Adults, and Senior Adults.

She is survived by two devoted daughters, Pamela Darlene Jarvis of Hamilton and Connie Yvonne Sadik and loving son-in-law Dr. Sameh Sadik of Hamilton; one sister, Marcella Baldwin and brother in law Vernon Baldwin of West Chester, Ohio and two brothers, Harold Vaughn and sister in law Lillian of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jimmy Vaughn and sister in law Diana of Richmond, Indiana. She also leaves one brother in law Dill Jarvis Jr. and his wife Gerri of Ross, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison "Harry" Jarvis and two sons, Garry and Russell Jarvis, by her parents Lenox "Hacker" and Bessie Marie Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held at the Hamilton Christian Center, 1940 Millville Ave., on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Johnny Wade Sloan, Rev. Dale Yerton, and Rev. Diane Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Hamilton Christian Center on Friday, February 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chris Meier, and his staff; and to the Fairfield Township Fire and EMS Staff for their wonderful care.
