Ruby J. Meadors

Ruby J. Meadors, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 25, 2014. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on February 22, 1926 the daughter of Peter and Idel (Owens) Buchanan. Ruby was employed as an assembler at Cam-Lok Electric for thirty years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Rivers of Life Church of God, where she served as the Sunday School Secretary for a number of years. Ruby was a member of the VFW Post 3167 Auxiliary and the DAV Post 90 Auxiliary. On March 28, 1953 in Williamsburg, Kentucky she married Jacob Meadors and he preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by two children, Carol Sacre and James Meadors, both of Hamilton; three brothers, William (Opal) Buchanan of Southgate, Michigan, James Buchanan of Selma, Alabama, and Donald Layer of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Matthew Sacre, Elizabeth Sacre, and Kaitlyn Meadors, all of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Gillus Buchanan, William Myers, and Jack Layer; and one sister, Statia Gatliff.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Wilma Jackson of Rivers of Life Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
