Ruby Joyce Prewitt

Ruby Joyce Prewitt, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Ruby was born in Jellico, Tennessee on March 5, 1933 to the late George and Ruth (Blevins) Selvia. Ruby graduated from Jellico High School and worked for Elder-Beerman and Richard’s Pizza for many years. Ruby married the love of her life, Winford Prewitt and together they raised a family in Hamilton. Although Hamilton became her home, she always had a fondness for the mountains and scenic beauty of Tennessee. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and birdwatching, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. Ruby is survived by her children, Joy Ruth (Ken) Womacks and Winford Wayne (Sandy) Prewitt; her grandchildren, Wesley Prewitt, Jessica Miller, Christina Womacks, and Aaron (Mindy) Womacks; great grandchildren, Aiden, Ashden, Alden and Jaxson; her brothers, George and Jack Selvia; as well as many extended family members and friends. Ruby is reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Winford Prewitt. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, with her nephew, Steve Scudder officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
