Russell Fields, age 89 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 6:55AM. He was born in Franklin Co., IN on March 12, 1924 to Brownlow and Allie (Turner) Fields. Russell was a World War II Veteran and retired form Champion Papers in 1989. He was married to Irene L. Nester on March 14, 1946 in Versailles, IN who preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 1988. He later married Betty "Jean" Bowling, who also preceded him in death on April 20, 2007.
He is survived by three children; Johnny (Kathy) Fields, Russell (Pamela) Fields Jr., and Sheryl (Alan) Moyer; ten grandchildren, Michael Fields, John Fields, Ronnie Fields, Danny Fields, Katie Fields, Ashley Fields, David Fields, Chris Moyer, Scott (Jenny) Moyer, and Kyle Moyer; also eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Bula Boling and Kathleen Kendall. He was preceded in death by his parents, son J. Michael Fields, and eight siblings, Helmuth Fields, Wilson Fields, Eugene Fields, Laura Wilson, Hobert Fields, Robert Fields, Alonzo Fields, and Opal Callihan.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1PM with Rev. Johnny Wade Sloan of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 12noon-1PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sargero, the 4th floor nursing staff at Fort Hamilton Hospital and Hospice of Southwest Ohio for their kindness and loving care toward Russell and his family the past few weeks.
