Russell "Gene" McCracken, age 77 of Fairfield, passed away at home on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on November 1, 1937 to Joseph and Iva (Gentry) McCracken. Gene graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955, and he followed Fairfield athletics the rest of his life. Gene was owner of McCracken Oil Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairfield.
He is survived by his son, David S. (Wendy) McCracken, Hartsville, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 1 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Fairfield. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com.
