Ruth L. Alcorn

Ruth L. Alcorn, age 85 of Hamilton passed away at her home on Monday, October 25, 2010. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on December 10, 1924 the daughter of Wesley and Viola (Poppe) Essert. Ruth was retired as district manager at King Kwik. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Debbie) Alcorn and Dennis (Sherry) Alcorn; a stepson, Bruce (Susan) Alcorn; four grandchildren, Dino (Danielle), David (Karly), Keith (Betty), and Angie; and nine great-grandchildren, Stephan, Alec, Haley, David, Lesli, Kelli, Kelsi, Kayli, and Davi. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Golie Alcorn, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1978; a granddaughter, Kristina; and a brother, Wesley Essert Jr.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 9:30 AM with Rev. Earl David Charles of Pater Avenue Free Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and concern.
